Cooperation for less ships‘ emissions

The mission of the Platform Ships‘ Emissions is to reduce ships‘ emissions in a way that enhances the comptitiveness of the maritime sector in the Netherlands. This is done by promoting coöperation and the sharing of knowledge on emission reduction methods. The platform is an initiative from within the maritime sector to unite business and environmental interests. The partners in the platform are Holland Marine Equipment Association, North Sea Foundation, Port of Rotterdam and Royal Association of Netherlands‘ Shipowners.

 

 

Seminar 'What to do with CO2 emitted by shipping' 12th of may 2009 

Several stakeholders will discuss the CO2 emission from seagoing vessels at 12th of May 2009 in Rotterdam. During the workshop the whole scope of possible measures will be presented, from the UN/IMO/MEPC, EC vision, ship owners perspective, influence by ports to fuel savings programs on board.
Peter Mollema (port of Rotterdam Authority), board member of the Dutch Platform ShipEmissions will welcome all participants Speakers from the Ministery of Transport, Maritime Shipping Unit, EC/DGENVIRONMENT/GHG/SHIPPING, Scheepsbouw Nederland, Royal Association of Netherlands’ Shipowners, Seaat, Port of Rotterdam Authority, Anthony Veder Rederijzaken B.V. will present their view on the CO2 debate. For the discussion at the end of the workshop members of the Dutch en European Parliament are invited.
 
Cost of the seminar will be €75,- ex VAT for members of the participating organiosations and €100,- ex VAT for non members

Broad maritime network

The platform takes a broad approach towards the emisisons problems and solutions, thus contributing to an overview for all the stakeholders in industry, government and others. The buttons on the left give acces to information on emissions, measurement, reduction, control and clean ship. As the focus of the platform is on the Dutch maritime sector and environment, part of the information is in Dutch. However, as many sources are in English, you will also find many English pages and documents.
